New BettePond baths by Dominik Tesseraux

The circular BettePond was designed by Dominik Tesseraux (Tesseraux + Partner, Potsdam) as a reminder of the original shape of the tub. With a generous 150cm diameter, the circle is the perfect place for quiet contemplation and slowing down in everyday life – and a genuine oasis of tranquillity in the bathroom.

“The circle is an original symbol of mankind, and represents harmony, infinity and oneness,” explains Sven Rensinghoff, Marketing Director at Bette. “Which is an extremely apt description of enjoying a bath, because time almost seems to stand still when we relax in the warm water, enabling us to find our way back to ourselves.”

Counterpoint or sparkling pool

Depending on the room architecture and place, BettePond can be chosen either as a free-standing or built-in version. The free-standing version has the word “Silhouette” after the name and can be used as a specific style tool in the bathroom.”

BettePond Silhouette attracts admiring glances simply by its sheer presence, the result of the volume of the cylindrical body, the elegant material and the flawless, brilliant surface.

For those who prefer a more subtle look, but still want to enjoy the comfort of a circular bath, BettePond can also be inset into a surface. With its slender rim of only 8 mm, the bath then looks like a sparkling pool that is perfect for a peaceful, contemplative bath – with plenty of storage all round for shampoo, towels and soaps. Adding a whirl system to BettePond will increase the well-being even further.

Spectacular in form and format

Realising this inviting circle in glazed titanium steel called for every ounce of Bette’s mastery. Although the reduced circle appears basic in form, producing a bath from this strong material demanded a profound knowledge of the material and manufacturing process.

“Creating a round form with a diameter of 150 cm and the smooth connection of the interior and exterior called for an extremely high level of skill in the processing of glazed titanium skill,” explained Sven Rensinghoff. The completely hygienic material, glazed titanium steel is not only extremely durable, but is also notable for its skin-friendly properties, permanent colour stability and impermeability to cosmetics and bath additives.

BetteForm bath re-designed

The BetteForm bath has been completely re-designed to feature contemporary styling, a wider, more comfortable back rest and more standing room, when used as a shower-bath. The strength of the Bette glazed titanium-steel also means that the bath is able to feature a very slim, stylish rim, while still being extremely strong, and the metal construction enables almost right-angled corners, so the bath fits into a tiling pattern. It is available in 12 sizes from 1400 × 700 mm to 1900 × 800 mm, with a depth of 420 mm, providing a wide range of options for bathrooms of all sizes.

New Bette baths & basins make UK debut

Bette’s new Red Dot award-winning basin and luxurious circular bath made their UK debut at Sleep & Eat. The company also demonstrated the durability of its glazed titanium-steel material with ‘Endurance Tests’ featuring fire and nail varnish, as well as artists creating a ‘Skyline of London’ design in the new Bette bath, using permanent markers that could actually be removed easily.

The circular BetteCraft basin gained a Red Dot Award 2019 for product design and was shown in some of the hundreds of colours available. Also making an impact on the stand was the new BettePond Silhouette freestanding bath. The spacious 150cm diameter bath is the first circular bath to be created in glazed titanium-steel and takes the form to new levels of luxury and elegance.

Bette is also known for its innovative glazed titanium-steel shower trays, and the display included a BetteFloor, which can be installed flush to the floor and is available with Bette’s almost invisible Anti-slip Pro option.

Bette’s baths, basins and shower trays/floors are made of glazed titanium-steel, are highly durable, easy to clean and come with a thirty year warranty. They are available in an extensive range of colours, including matt and gloss options. Bespoke colours can be created, along with bespoke sized products to fit a space perfectly.

Bette gave live ‘Endurance Test’ demonstrations to show the durability of its products, encouraging visitors to draw on the glazed titanium-steel with a permanent marker and nail varnish, hit it with a shower head and then watch, as nail varnish remover was set alight on the surface.

In addition, two artists created a ‘Skyline of London’ design inside the bath using permanent markers, which can be easily removed from the glazed, easy-clean surface.
