Utopia has refreshed its Halo range of contemporary wall mounted bathroom furniture with the addition of a beautiful new oak finish, an extended choice of basins and a number of co-ordinating ancillary items.
The introduction of Washed Oak, a warm, natural finish with a beautiful woodgrain effect, brings the number of Halo finishes to six, while a new slimline ceramic basin offers an alternative to the existing Gloss and Matt Coralux solid surface washbasin options.
Also new to the range are co-ordinating bath plinths to accompany bath side and end panels, co-ordinating worktops for toilet units and filler panels to allow for a corner installation.
Helen Clark, Head of Marketing at Utopia Bathrooms, comments “The appeal of Halo lies in its modern minimalist design which makes it the perfect choice for a contemporary bathroom. Our new Washed Oak finish complements the simple linear styling of the furniture offering a natural, spa-like feel and will undoubtedly broaden the appeal of the range still further.”
As part of its major Summer product launch, Utopia has greatly extended the colour choice for its Symmetry, YOU, i-Line and Geo furniture collections.
In all, 11 new finishes have been introduced taking the overall selection to 24 door finishes, the widest choice ever available at Utopia. The new colours are Azure Blue, Blush, Burnt Copper, Coastal Oak, Glacier Grey, Glacier Grey Gloss, Latte, Pewter Fusion, Silver Fusion, Sea Green and Storm Grey. Of these, Azure Blue, Blush, Sea Green and Storm Grey are the brand new super matt, soft touch door finishes, featuring an innovative material technology that results in a luxurious feel with the added benefit of repelling grease marks such as finger prints.
In addition to the new finishes, the collections have also benefited from further range developments. Because bathroom storage is an essential element of good bathroom design, RAK Ceramics has upgraded its popular RAK-Resort collection, which now features a range of contemporary furniture in a compact format that uses space economically, making the bathroom feel luxuriously spacious.
Designed to be wall-hung, the furniture is available in five unit options – in widths ranging from 450mm to 650mm plus a corner unit – and in five colours of White, Grey, Mushroom, Stone and Denim Blue. Utopia Bathrooms is increasing the appeal of its popular Roseberry range of painted timber bathroom furniture with the addition of two new colourways and five new handles.
Rose Quartz is a very delicate shade of pink which looks stunning as both a stand alone finish or teamed with the existing London Grey or Dove Grey shades. The new Emerald Green finish is a rich, vibrant shade of green which perfectly enhances the woodgrain detail of Roseberry.
Richard Shore, Head of Design at Utopia Bathrooms, comments “Our new colours are right on-trend this year and also work perfectly with our existing heritage shades. We expect Rose Quartz and Emerald Green to appeal particularly to a younger customer demographic, keen to experiment with luxury finishes and design.”
The Roseberry collection is a modern interpretation of traditional luxury painted timber furniture, featuring a classic raised and fielded door. It is spray painted to the customer’s specification at Utopia’s manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton. The range is available in fitted, wall mounted and free standing configurations to suit all types, sizes and styles of bathroom.
In addition to the new colours, Utopia is introducing five more options to the collection of authentic handles specifically designed to complement the Roseberry range. A classic bar and knob are available in both brushed steel and matt black, while a pewter knob completes the new styles.
Commenting on the additions to Roseberry, Helen Clark, Utopia’s Head of Marketing, said “Since the launch of our Roseberry Collection in 2016, it has fast become one of our best selling furniture collections and we are confident that the new introductions will further enhance its appeal.”
Utopia Bathrooms has announced that its major product launch for Spring/Summer 2020 is now set to be unveiled.
Colour and texture are key to this latest product launch. In addition to the new colours and finishes, there are significant additions and upgrades across several of the collections plus a striking collection of new handles including fabulous matt black options for the first time.
Anticipating trends for both colour and finish, the seven new foil finishes are Azure Blue, Blush, Sea Green, Storm Grey, Silver Fusion, Pewter Fusion and Burnt Copper, all available across the Original Fitted, YOU, iLine, Symmetry and Geo ranges. Silver Fusion and Pewter Fusion have a lightly textured surface appearance giving visual depth to the colours while Burnt Copper has a tactile metallic finish. Four of the new colours – Blush, Sea Green, Azure Blue and Storm Grey – feature a brand new and highly innovative super matt, soft touch foil finish.

We’re so proud of our team for delivering a whole world of exciting new products and colours on time and against this challenging background. In a way, it feels more than a product launch, it’s our way of demonstrating that it’s business as usual at Utopia, manufacturing beautiful bathrooms all designed and made here in the UK.”
VitrA introduces the Voyage collection, a collaboration with the award-winning multi-disciplinary artist and designer Arik Levy.
With more than 130 products available in the range, Voyage is one of VitrA’s most extensive collections to date, offering endless possibilities for customisation. The vast number of furniture and sanitaryware pieces can be individually tailored using the extensive range of colour, material and size options, and by taking advantage of the variety of horizonal and vertical units and wall panels to create the ideal layout to suit any bathroom space or style.
Inspired by his time living and working in Japan, Arik Levy worked closely with VitrA’s in-house design team to create a bathroom collection that allows both mind and body to relax. He comments: “Taking time for ourselves in the bathroom each day can be extremely purifying. Our daily habits are deeprooted, but I hope that the Voyage collection will help us to indulge ourselves and make time to enjoy our daily rituals”.
The collection is entirely wall-hung, making it exceptionally versatile and ideal for small or awkward spaces. Both open and closed storage options are available – from hooks and open shelving, through to mirrored wallboxes and a variety of storage units – and each piece can be positioned anywhere in the room to suit individual needs. Coordinating accessories including a heated towel rail and a toilet roll and brush holder is also available to complete the look.
Voyage bathroom furniture is available in five different dual colour finishes, including flamed grey and natural oak, planked sand and stone grey, and flamed grey and forest green.
Cast from hygienic and easy-to-clean ceramic, the Voyage collection includes a range of countertop and wall-hung washbasin units which offer a convenient combination of wet, dry and semi-wet areas, blurring the lines between a traditional bowl and a vanity unit.
This collaboration is the latest in VitrA’s long-standing programme of working with world-renowned designers to create distinctive and modern bathroom collections. Arik Levy joins a group of designers such as Ross Lovegrove, Sebastian Conran, Terri Pecora, and most recently, Claudio Bellini, each of whom has worked closely with VitrA’s in-house team to create bathrooms that reflect their own vision and aesthetic style.
Levent Giray, Managing Director of VitrA UK, comments: “The Voyage collection highlights the importance of taking time to practice self-care on a daily basis and we are delighted to see it in production. Arik Levy worked closely with our in-house design team to ensure that his vision was expertly manufactured and engineered to be as versatile as possible, ensuring maximum convenience and choice for our customers.”
Bright white can sometimes appear clinical in a bathroom, using lighter shades creates a more inviting and warmer space. “Off White” has become increasingly popular as a feature shade within the bathroom, this mixture of white and gentle beige is used to create a modern, urban feel.
Duravit uses shades of white within its new Duravit Viu/XViu (pictured top) and Happy D.2 Plus bathroom ranges. This subtle, understated look creates scope for both individual design and creative options.
The new Viu ceramics series and the XViu bathroom furniture range from sieger design combine a post-industrial elegance in the structure and design of the furniture, which appears to emerge from the softer, organic lines of the washbasin and bath.
Saneux, best known for modern bathroom furniture, has branched out by launching a traditional ceramics and furniture range which combines traditional craft with contemporary design. Comprising of ceramic basins and carefully hand-crafted floor-standing units, the SOFIA range is unlike any other traditional bathroom furniture range on the market.
As most traditional bathroom furniture ranges feature simple and clean shaker doors, Saneux’s designers wanted to provide users with a more detailed and delicate traditional collection. This is evident by the finer details visible on the units and in the colours they’re available in: cotton white, dove grey and Prussian blue; all elegant and soft finishes that can fit into any bathroom style seamlessly.
Although this is a stunning traditional range by design, the durability of these units has not been compromised. Modern-day technology has ensured that the furniture is not susceptible to water damage by having 8 individual layers of anti-fingerprint lead-free paint, allowing SOFIA to be well suited even in the busiest of bathrooms.
The SOFIA floor-standing door units are available in 40cm and 60cm configurations, perfect for ensuites and family bathrooms. Both sizes provide essential storage space plus extra with the addition of a hatch compartment.
The basins compatible with the units come in 3, 1 and no tap hole options, allowing a variety of choice when it comes to pairing the unit with traditional brassware. To complete the look, matching framed mirrors are available in the same colour options as the units themselves.
The range doesn’t stop at furniture, as it features a stunning ceramic pedestal, chrome 60cm washstand and a rimless close-coupled WC. Essentially, Saneux’s new SOFIA collection provides you with the perfect traditional bathroom space.
Terri Pecora’s award-winning Plural Collection was on display at Sleep + Eat 2019. The new range which includes free-standing bathroom furniture, WCs and bidets, has been extended with a selection of urinals.
This innovative range reimagines the bathroom as a living space, by using smooth, rounded edges and solid woods to emulate furniture usually found in other rooms of the home. The Sleep & Eat set featured a number of Plural washbasins including a monoblock basin and countertop bowls, as well as new wall-hung urinals.
ISH 2019 for Duravit was a very exciting and extremely busy show, with the launch of two new bathroom series, Happy D 2 plus, Viu and XViu. Both have been created in collaboration with sieger design, with their completely contrasting styles, one with precise angles the other with curves. They both created a huge buzz, especially when sieger design joined us on the stand to view the products in- situ.
The stand also welcomed Philippe Stark, who has created a sleek accessory series designed exclusively for Duravit and new exciting technological innovations for the shower toilet – Starck f; In addition a natural progression in relation to functionality and style were apparent within the new faucet series launched at the show.
