Ideal Standard is continuing its series of cinematic events, the Together World Tour, with its next scheduled stop – London, on September 23rd 2021.

The Together World Tour is a digital event series for the international architecture & design community that aims to inspire attendees by diving into the design culture of six unique cities around the world.

Following the success of the first two events in Milan and Berlin, which saw the brand launch the Ideal Standard’s Linda-X and Extra ranges from its new Atelier Collections, the London event will premiere another iconic piece in the collections. The Atelier Collections are influenced by the brand’s rich design heritage and are the result of the partnership with Italian design studio Palomba Serafini Associati (PS+A) and Roberto Palomba, Ideal Standard’s Chief Design Officer.

The latest film in the series will showcase the city’s unstoppable creativity and exactly what it is that makes London so iconic in the design community. From celebrated artist Soheila Sokhanvari, to textile and fashion designer Darren Cross, the immersive event will focus on some of London’s most celebrated personalities and its most inspirational moments across the years.

As well as the London film streaming on the Together World Tour microsite, it will also be premiered live in-person at the Design London exhibition. As part of the Design London’s programme, there will also be several unique and creative sessions with key contributors following showings of the film, in the Transparency in Shades of Colour theatre. Furthermore, all attendees of Design London can also experience the first UK showing of the Atelier Collections at Ideal Standard’s stand (E6) throughout the duration of the show.

Commenting on the event, Jan Peter Tewes, CEO of Ideal Standard International, said: “For centuries, the rich diversity of London has allowed it to lead the world in design, art, music, culture and more. Its streets are filled with wonder and intrigue; an eclectic mix of very distinct boroughs – each a mini-city with its own personality that come together to make it wonderfully unique and disruptive. It is a complex and electric city which is continually moving and changing – and it’s this variety that creates the energy that London is known for, and something we were intrigued to delve into a little deeper. So, we are inviting the international design community to join us virtually on 23rd September at 11am BST, as well as hosting a live premiere of the film at Design London, to discover how the past, present and future of that classic London design attitude have all contributed to the launch of the Tipo Z, the centerpiece in Ideal Standard’s new Atelier Collections.”

The third leg of the Together World Tour will premiere on September 23rd at 11am BST. To learn more about the tour so far and register for the London event visit: www.togetherworldtour.com

Pan Pacific Group has announced the opening of its first European property, Pan Pacific London in the heart of the city’s Aldgate district.

Occupying the landmark tower at One Bishopsgate Plaza, the hotel fuses together architecture, contemporary design, boundary-pushing wellbeing, and leading destination restaurants and bars, with sincere Singaporean hospitality.

Bishopsgate Plaza includes a 43-storey bronze tower encompassing Pan Pacific London and private Sky Residence apartments. The 144-year old Devonshire House also features designer shops, a destination restaurant and a contemporary cocktail bar. A landscaped public plaza connects the two cultural hubs, making it a 24-hour destination for meeting, living, working and discovering.

The hotel, including its accommodations, event spaces and public areas, has been created by design duo Yabu Pushelberg, who bring their signature style to the hotel sparked by the fusion of south-east Asian vibrancy and the refined elegance of traditional British design.

Modern lines and artistic flair run throughout the hotel’s public spaces whilst guestrooms offer a sense of peace and calm with curved walls and neutral colour palettes. Custom headboards act as personalised art pieces, adding a layer of calm through the depiction of oak, elder, elm and maple trees while accessories introduce small bursts of colour and organic forms to reinforce the tonal and tranquil nature of each room.

Diptyque amenities, a hot and cold minibar, and a curated library of books ensure guests’ comfort. For ultimate wellbeing, an innovative ChiliSleep™ Ooler Sleep Cooling System to aid better sleep via temperature regulation is available upon request, and rooms come complete with yoga mats and on-demand virtual yoga sessions, as well as health-benefiting botanical planting.

The hospitality offering at Pan Pacific London encompasses five specialist venues incorporating unique elements of the flavour, diversity and elegance of modern Singapore.

Led by award-winning Executive Chef Lorraine Sinclair and renowned Executive Pastry Chef Cherish Finden, the hotel’s Straits Kitchen restaurant, Ginger Lily bar and The Orchid Lounge drawing room delights guests with new and innovative flavours.

Located at the top of the lobby’s spiral staircase, Straits Kitchen is an ode to Southeast Asia both through design and cuisine. Embracing a respectful approach to cooking inspired by heritage recipes, the menu at Straits Kitchen has been carefully crafted by Sinclair working alongside Singaporean Group Executive Chef Tony Khoo and showcases the melting pot of cuisines represented in multicultural Singapore.

Quirky, bold and bright, Straits Kitchen features two private dining spaces, custom dining tables and a custom wine-cabinet-as-art. Custom murals have been brought to life by En Viu which further enforce the restaurant’s Eastern influence, depicting Asian botanicals mirroring the unique flavours on the menu. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer guests unparalleled views of The City.

Pan Pacific London includes the most technologically advanced and largest ballroom in the area, accommodating up to 400 guests. The hotel also features an Event Emporium alongside a further nine flexible meeting and events venues, with a dedicated in-house events management team plus state-of-the-art technology, super-fast WiFi and 5G receivers.

The extensive 464msmart Pacific Ballroom features a custom Lasvit chandelier designed by Yabu Pushelberg and is composed of floating crystal orbs creating a starry night’s sky.

Integrating fitness, nutrition, treatments and mindfulness, the hotel is one of the first in London to include an impressive 1,083m² floor dedicated to holistic wellness, featuring an 18.5m infinity pool and the latest equipment from TecnoBody®, including the D-Wall and conditioning gym, making it one of the most technologically advanced facilities showcased by any hotel gym in the UK.

In addition to high-performance training, aqua fitness in the hotel’s infinity pool is a unique addition to the wellbeing floor, along with mindful workshops and sustainable nutrition.  Spa treatments infuse Western science and clinical research with South East Asian tradition of clean beauty focusing on result-driven relaxation techniques, pregnancy treatments, and personal grooming rituals.  As part of the programming, guests may choose to enjoy Pan Pacific London’s in-room Wellbeing Experience as part of the integrative approach, comprising a wide range of equipment selection and digital content.

The Milano Verticale – a new four-star hotel has opened to the public and features four Penthouse suites with luxurious bathrooms, large panoramic terraces and jacuzzi pools. The hotel has 173 rooms and includes approximately 600 m2 dedicated to restaurants and bars and a 1000 m2 internal garden.

The architectural project for the interiors and outdoor areas was designed by Vudafieri-Saverino Partners and aims to overcome the traditional concept of a“hotel” by creating a space open to the city.

The latest UNA Esperienze hotel is located in the Porta Nuova – Garibaldi – Corso Como district, an area that represents urban development and the rebirth of Milan. This area is not only an important business quarter but also a go-to zone for design, finance, fashion and food & beverage.

With 173 rooms on 12 floors, Milano Verticale has been conceived as an extension of the city itself as the ground-floor amenities are designed in dialogue with the city. The rooms have been created with minimal material – floors are ceramic stone and dark oak parquet and the walls have been created with marmorino plaster which is divided into large areas of colour, the bedheads are ribbed walnut wood.

Another highlight of the hotel is its 530 m2 rooftop area on the 13th floor, belonging to the 4 Penthouse Suites: 4 exclusive super attic apartments with large panoramic terraces and jacuzzi pools. Rooftop and Penthouse Suites can be completely customised to suit different needs and can be modulated according to use. They can even be turned into a totally personalised single apartment measuring over 900 square metres. This location also boasts unparalleled 360° views of Milan’s skyline and the Alps.

Bathroom brassware manufacturer Hansgrohe has worked with vets, psychologists, dog groomers and pet owners to develop a shower specifically for dogs.

Created with three spray modes and long, stroking silicone nozzles to enable water to reach dirt deep down in the undercoat and remove shampoo.

The dog is gently stroked by the shower head which can be moved around the body and is designed for one-handed operation.

Three spray types are for gently cleaning paws or other sensitive areas, or for legs covered in soil. For the core and the full fur spray – cleaning is achieved with over 70 nozzles.

It also boasts an integrated water brake, which is activated when the shower handle is released for a short time, to reduce the volume and pressure of water, and prevent dog owners from suddenly getting wet while washing their pet.

The Hansgrohe DogShower screws into any standard shower hose and, for an even faster change of shower heads, it is also possible to install a click connecter which is included with the product.

Bathrooms, appliances, sinks and taps distributor, PJH, has donated an impressive £5,000 to ‘NHS Charities Together’, thanks to its staff completing its ‘Wellbeing Team Challenge’ which tasked employees to collectively travel a Globe Union-spanning 21,020 miles from walking, cycling, running, swimming, and kayaking.

The ‘Wellbeing Team Challenge’, organised by PJH, asked its employees to travel the world together, ‘virtually’ by any self-powered wellbeing activity in just 60 days. And like the company’s strapline ‘together we’re better’, Team PJH collectively covered 21,020 miles, which is a distance equivalent to starting and finishing in the UK having visited some of parent company, Globe Union’s many sites – such as Mexico, Montreal, Germany, Shenzhen China and Taiwan.

PJH has said the team challenge, which ran throughout the summer, was designed to promote wellbeing within the company, a subject PJH is keen to promote following the ever-present COVID-19 pandemic. Employees shared photos throughout the challenge, which not only highlighted efforts and progress, but brought a well-needed social aspect to the challenge and a real team feeling, as the event travelled forward towards success.

Richard George, CEO, PJH, speaking about challenge, said: “Good mental and physical health is extremely important, and the Wellbeing Team Challenge was designed to bring everyone that bit closer together and promote activities that foster a sense of wellbeing. The success of this challenge proves just how close we are as a team, and the accompanying £5,000 raised for NHS Charities Together is a vote of thanks from us all for the incredible work by the NHS throughout this pandemic.”

Of the 21,020 miles achieved, 126 PJH staff collectively clocked up an average of 350 miles per day from 4,093 activities.

Black designer radiators deliver an elegant and sophisticated look. The trend for monochrome has ignited the imagination and these radiators are now becoming a statement item. The contrast between a lighter background and dark-through-to-black furniture, fabrics and other essential elements can be introduced into living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms, creating an ambience unique to each setting.

The clearly defined lines and flat fronts of Vasco’s Oni (pictured top) and Niva models (pictured below left) create the impression that they are quite literally floating near the surface of the wall. The Oni, with its gentle shape and rounded edges make this aluminium radiator unmistakable. At only eight millimetres wide it’s the most slender radiator Vasco has ever produced; both Oni and Niva radiators are perfect for a wide range of interiors styles from a minimal, pared-back, puristic space through to a more traditional classic living area.

Other designer radiators from Vasco including Viola (above right), Zana, Carré or Tulipa are available in black, providing a multitude of options to introduce individuality into a rooms design.

The icing on the cake of this new collection is the matching valve set in jet black (RAL 9005) perfecting the visual appearance of the black designer radiators. The coherent unit of radiator and fitting is reinforced as no weld seams are visible and the valves are discreetly integrated into the body.

Many designer radiators from Vasco, such as the Oni are made entirely of lightweight, highly resistant, recycled aluminium. Stable, flexible and with a solid profile, it has excellent thermal conductivity for optimal heat dissipation; all the aluminium radiators are manufactured with a patented press connection following this they receive a cataphoretic primer, protecting against any form of corrosion; finally they are electrostatically coated with a high-quality epoxy-polyester powder coating.

Oni has already received several awards for sustainable design and future viability. The most important recent industry and design awards: the IF Design Award in the “Building / Technology” product category and the seal of approval from the “Design Plus” jury at ISH.

The Armani / Roca Baia collection

The aesthetic intentionally references the past but the retro styling has been interpreted in a modern manner and incorporates avant-garde technology. The result is a new, versatile bathroom collection, which manages to be both contemporary and timeless, in accordance with Giorgio Armani’s design philosophy.

New countertop & over-countertop washbasins

A wide range of countertop and over-countertop washbasins offers endless combinations of brassware to suit every style of bathroom. New metallic finishes have been introduced in two luxurious shades – matte gold and dark metallic. The resulting shagreen matte gold and shagreen dark metallic adds a touch of unusual elegance. The basin options now also include a new, stylish pedestal model, which complements the rest of the collection and can be fitted with integrated metal towel rails in various finishes.

Brassware

The range also includes a new line of classically inspired brassware which is showcased to full effect in the IPM showroom: deck-mounted and built-in basin faucets, a thermostatic shower column faucet and a thermostatic freestanding bathtub faucet. These are all available in three finishes: greige, brushed steel and chrome.

One of the unique features of this brassware range is that, in spite of its classical design, it is equipped with innovative technology; thermostatic technology has been incorporated into the freestanding retro-inspired bath filler and the retro-look shower column, delivering thoroughly modern efficiency.

Updated with a contemporary appearance and paying special attention to ergonomics and comfort, the lines of this bathtub are soft and sinuous. It is also available in an elegant version embellished with four metal handles in three finishes – greige, brushed steel and chrome.
