Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has launched two new products inspired by the great natural landscapes on Earth and the precious materials we find on it.

Part of Neolith’s new Classtone and Fusion collections, Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset, are inspired by the wonders of nature.

They are equipped with Neolith’s unique NeolEAT technology, which helps prevent the proliferation of bacteria on surfaces used as countertops or that are in contact with food.

These models, like all Neolith’s surfaces, are made up of a natural composition. They are made with a selection of natural raw materials, are 100% recyclable, and do not contain added quartz to their formulation.

An ode to natural magnificence and craftsman excellence

Inspired by the splendour of Ancient Rome, Neolith Calacatta Roma (pictured below) pays homage to Italian Carrara marble, combining classic elegance with modern sophistication. Its ochre and grey veins stand out against the white background, providing sobriety and distinction. It is an ideal choice for spaces that require a touch of luxury and refinement, while maintaining durability and functionality.

With Neolith Cappadocia Sunset (pictured top) we move to the Cappadocia region, in central Turkey. This area has been inhabited for thousands of years and is the home to some of the most fascinating rock formations in the world. Underground cities or lunar landscapes caused by volcanic eruptions, as well as the primitive movements of the Earth, have served as inspiration to create this model.

Cappadocia Sunset evokes the textures, movement, and dynamism of the Turkish region, without compromising the elegance, colour neutrality and balance that characterize Neolith.

Each one of these models becomes a work of art that not only transforms spaces, but also tells a unique story.

Since its creation in 2009, Neolith has become the best solution for interior and exterior projects, combining exquisite design and high functionality.

Just like all Neolith models, Cappadocia Sunset and Calacatta Roma are made from sintered stone which has unique functionalities alongside extreme resistance to heat and extreme atmospheric conditions. They are hygienic, very easy to clean and require minimal maintenance. They are the ideal material for any project and can be used on countertops and furniture, as well as on walls and floors, covering facades or in gardens and swimming pools.  Due to their all-natural composition, Neolith products have an extended life cycle and can be recycled at the end of their usable life.

Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset are now available through Neolith’s own international distribution centres, as well as the firm’s global network of distributors. The new models will be available to all channels within the UK & Ireland, including A&D, kitchen and bathroom showrooms, and housebuilders.

Utopia recently welcomed bathroom retailers, supply partners and installers to its Wolverhampton headquarters last week as part of a four-day open house. Designed to coincide with retailers visiting the KBB exhibition, Utopia used the event to present a large number of new products and preview exciting new collections scheduled for launch later in the year.

Utopia’s showroom was dramatically updated for the event, with 22 brand new displays showcasing new additions to the company’s extensive collection. It was also the ideal opportunity, in conjunction with activities at KBB 2024, to present the new Innovation in Motion collaboration featuring FurnSpin technology in partnership with Hettich UK.

Commenting on the success of the event, Helen Clark, head of marketing at Utopia, said “We always embrace opportunities to see our retail partners face to face on site and it was really encouraging to see their enthusiastic reaction to our latest products. Their informed opinion is invaluable, too, so it was an excellent opportunity to give them a sneak preview of our current new product development plans.”

Continuing, Helen said “We had such positive feedback after the event with comments including “Great range of new products, colours and love new Geo”, “Amazing showroom, I now want to redesign ours” and “Really relaxed day and tour, lots of new ideas”.”

As well as showcasing its entire product range through more than 60 displays, Utopia sees its spacious showroom as an extension of retailers’ own showrooms and is always happy to welcome retail partners and their customers on site by appointment should they wish to view a particular range they don’t currently have on display.

Held at the NEC, the event took place from 3rd-6th March, attracting over 17,150 visitors, including over 7,000 retailers, who visited the 320 exhibitors from across 26 different categories on the show floor.

We presented 7 new Hendel & Hendel collections, as well as new innovations from Formed including the Aura bedroom accessories and Artis drawer system. We are delighted to have won the award for best component stand, which is testament to our team’s incredible work to communicate our brand vision to visitors at the show. We look forward to returning in 2026!”

KBB Industry United

Positive sentiments were echoed by supporting industry associations across the show floor.

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) provided an exclusive opportunity for the bathroom industry to gain valuable insights from its dedicated seminar talks programme. Hosted by Tom Reynolds, CEO of the BMA, the discussions provided insightful conversations across the four days, with talks from industry experts discussing a range of topics from innovative bathroom designs to emerging new trends:

“BMA was delighted to have an enthusiastic audience for the BMA’s Seminar Talks at kbb Birmingham, with some fantastic insights and expert advice shared by our panellists. The show has grown significantly and definitely had a buzz for 2024. The stand builds from the brands present were very impressive and a great form of motivation for what’s in store for the year ahead.”

Platform for KBB Innovation

With over 320 exhibitors, the outstanding new product launches presented across the show floor did not disappoint, providing a varied and exciting display of the latest innovations in the sector.

British bathroom manufacturer, VADO launched its innovative new modular collection, Cameo.  The contemporary and stylish range includes bathroom furniture, vanities, furniture handles, basins, radiators and mirrors and a co-ordinating collection of bathroom brassware and accessories, for affordable luxury.

Exhibiting for the retail marketplace for the first time, premium ceramics brand, Bocchi displayed a brand-new collection of unique and creative basins and accessories, including its standout piece the ‘Strata Ross Lovegrove basin’ in fuzzy peach – the Pantone colour of the year. Darren Paxford, sales director, Bocchi UK Ltd comments:

“We’ve had a fantastic 4 days here at kbb Birmingham, showcasing our Bocchi collection and we’ve had such great feedback on our products. It’s an exciting time for us as we’re introducing our brand into the retail marketplace, so it’s been the ideal opportunity to meet new connections as we build our network of customers and develop long term, collaborative relationships.”

Driving Sustainability Forwards

As kbb Birmingham’s Sustainability Partner, The Used Kitchen Company (TUKC) promoted the reuse and resale of pre-owned and ex display kitchens, extending their lifespan and reducing waste. TUKC actively encouraged retailers to promote the concept of recycling their client’s old kitchens, through POS material and offering incentives to showrooms. They also offered the opportunity for exhibitors to sell their display kitchens from the show floor.

Kbb Birmingham focus on promoting sustainability and working collaboratively with its exhibitors, partners, and community to lead the way in driving positive change. ‘Better Stands’ is the show’s landmark campaign to reduce the waste that stands and booths at exhibitions can create, and many exhibitors featured reuseable and modular elements to their stands that can be repurposed for other events.

Innovation Awards

The fourth and final day of the show (6th March) saw the much-anticipated winners of the 2024 Innovation Awards, supported by Blum, announced. The award scheme recognises the most forward-thinking and technically advanced products within the KBB sector and is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the show. Architect and interior design liaison at Blum, Amanda Hughes commented:

“Once again, the standard of entries was incredibly high and those shortlisted really reflect that spirit of creativity and innovation that we’ve come to expect at the kbb Innovation Awards. These brilliant solutions demonstrate ideas that can really make a difference across the KBB industry.”

The 10 shortlisted finalists were displayed in an inspiring showcase across the specially designed Innovation Zone, providing visitors the chance to experience the innovations first hand and vote for their favourite.

The Judge’s Choice was awarded to Space-Plug Limited, for their Space-Plug Evolution, an adjustable spacer fixing that manufacturers can use to mimic the shortening of side panels. The solution saves material and makes smaller, lighter cabinets that installers can fit faster, easier and more accurately than ever before.

“It’s so rewarding to see the KBB community together at the show – networking, collaborating and celebrating this exciting industry that we’re part of. The stands were incredibly impressive, which is testament to the hard work and creativity of our exhibitors and partners. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our visitors and exhibitors for the amazing buzz they brought to the show floor – we look forward to welcoming them back to kbb Birmingham 2026!” summarises Sam Fisher, event director of kbb Birmingham.

GROHE has expanded its shower toilet offering with a new entry-level product, GROHE Sensia Pro. Designed to meet consumers’ hygiene needs in one streamlined solution, shower toilets combine a regular toilet with the benefits of a bidet.

Already standard in countries like Japan, this toilet solution contributes to a new hygiene experience, using the most natural cleaning agent there is: water. Water is kind to the skin, yet highly effective and hygienic – and more sustainable than toilet paper.

“Expanding our shower toilet portfolio allows us and our professional partners to reach new target groups,” says Stefan Schmied, leader commercial sales operations, LIXIL EMENA.

“As the ideal entry-level solution to complement the GROHE Sensia Arena, GROHE Sensia Pro makes pure hygiene affordable without compromising on advanced technology. With its versatile features, it appeals to diverse consumer groups, from wellness lovers to hygiene and technology enthusiasts.”

GROHE Sensia Pro is conveniently operated by remote control, which also features user-profile saving. To accommodate different personal needs, the twin shower arms come with adjustable water temperature and two sprays, one for cleaning the rear and a second spray that is ideal for the female intimate area. Both can be adjusted to operate an oscillating spray with an automatic forward and reverse motion. The nozzle position and spray strength can also be altered according to individual preference. After each use, the spray nozzles clean themselves with fresh water. The shower toilet offers another alternative to toilet paper in the integrated drying function, helping to reduce paper waste and further enhancing personal comfort.

Hygiene is also an important factor for the toilet itself. The ceramic glazing on the Sensia Pro has an antibacterial effect, while the anti-stick coating repels dirt and lime deposits. For thorough yet quiet cleaning, the GROHE Triple Vortex flush uses three water outlets to create a powerful swirl of water that covers every inch of the toilet bowl.

The GROHE Sensia Pro is also equipped with an automatic open and close function for the toilet seat and lid, further ensuring hygienic use. In addition, the shower toilet has a night-light to guide users safely in the dark. All these features are integrated with a modern design with clean lines – allowing the GROHE Sensia Pro to elevate any bathroom.

The GROHE Sensia Pro offers maximum flexibility in the bathroom, not only for consumers but also for installers when combined with the GROHE Rapid SLX. The fully pre-assembled toilet frame is the ideal solution for installing a shower toilet, as it comes with a universal water connection and an integrated power outlet. Moreover, the integrated flow manager makes it easy to regulate the flush flow intensity allowing the installer to limit unwanted splashing or overflow.
