The Cascade, Smart Lime Clean (SLC), retrofit tap aerator from Neoperl has been created to ensure a long-lasting quality flow stream, whilst protecting the tap from limescale build-up.
The Cascade SLC is available in many sizes to suit most basin, bath and kitchen taps. It is a low-cost, precision-made device that fits into the end of a tap and can be easily retrofitted. Most taps today come with some form of stream control that after use gathers calcium deposits restricting the flow of water. The beauty of the Cascade SLC is that it does not need to be removed for cleaning, the limescale can simply be rubbed away with a finger ensuring the tap stream remains straight and soft.
It is available in various flow rates and can be purchased with an integral flow control too with pressure compensating (PC) technology, helping to reduce the amount of water used. It can deliver either an aerated or laminar flow stream, the latter being a requirement for some commercial environments. Cascade can also be purchased with an adjustable stream angle (SSR) which allows the tilting plate at the spout to be angled between 6-10 degrees. Cascade is a really affordable, easy to retrofit solution, that saves water too.
Roca has introduced four new contemporary brassware collections to add to its impressive brassware portfolio, offering a wide range of solutions that complement every style of bathroom.
Pals
Straight, minimalist lines and different geometrics come together in Pals, a modern collection with an array of configurations and originality as a distinguishing trait. The basin and bidet models in the Pals collection include a convenient joystick handle, in line with the latest trends, providing an elegant design. The combination of straight and round lines achieves a striking contemporary aesthetic. The Pals collection features Roca’s exclusive Evershine, an electrolytic coating which guards against corrosion, delivers brightness, a sparkling mirror effect and an anti-scratch finish. A long lasting and hygienic solution is guaranteed, thanks to the anti-lime scale deposition materials used. The result is a high-quality product, made from premium materials. The Pals collection includes brassware options for basins, bidets, baths and showers.
Carelia
Carelia (pictured top) is a smooth-body, contemporary design collection, which features a soft turn handle and pan handle lever in the elegant basin mixer model. Carelia offers a wide range of options, including basin mixers, deck-mounted bath mixers, and a choice of solutions for the shower. Available in chrome and also in a sleek powder-coated black finish (basin and bath mixers only), Carelia offers stylish design at a competitive price point.
Alfa
Offering a gently angled, contemporary design, Alfa (pictured right) is available in a variety of matching options. The range includes basin, bidet and bath-shower mixers, all featuring a soft turn handle and full headed lever. All products in the range benefit from the advantages of Roca’s Evershine finish.
Cala
Cala features a curved cylindrical body and a longer projection spout on basin mixer models, as well as several convenient options for showers and bath-shower mixers. Roca’s exclusive Evershine coating guarantees a long-lasting, polished finish and makes for easy cleaning of these contemporary bathroom taps.
Water Saving
The new Pals, Alfa and Cala basin-mixers include a built-in aerator in the spout which limits the flow to 5 litres per minute. This allows water consumption to be minimised without reducing the level of functionality. Thanks to the air injection, the aerator guarantees a plentiful, soft and bubbling water flow that also prevents splashing.
Energy Efficiency
Thanks to Roca’s Cold Start® technology, all taps in the new ranges open to the right, always starting with cold water – meaning daily rituals that don’t require hot water can be carried out without unnecessarily activating the boiler, saving energy and cost. David Bromell, Head of Marketing at Roca comments: “Roca brassware is manufactured to the highest quality and we’re exceptionally proud of our broad design portfolio, ensuring that we offer beautiful design and functional solutions for every bathroom and at all price points.”
Grohe has relaunched its Eurosmart brassware portfolio to introduce a 2-in-1 hybrid tap with hygienic touchless control. Originally launched over 20 years ago, Eurosmart is a best seller for the company.
The new Eurosmart range features a contemporary design and loop lever, which makes it easy to use for those with limited or reduced dexterity and a hybrid variant with manual and touch-free operation.
“Eurosmart evolves with every generation, which is crucial if you want to bring meaningful products to the market. Our environment is constantly transforming, and we need to react to changing needs with new product solutions“, says Jonas Brennwald, Leader LIXIL EMENA.
“Right now, a global health crisis is forcing the world to rethink hygiene standards. Therefore, we have developed a hybrid version of Eurosmart, which combines hygiene-enhancing touchless and manual operation. Another example are the lever variants, which reflect the complexity of different living situations and the fact that every consumer has different requirements. Long levers simplify the daily work of doctors, while loop levers are perfect for children, the elderly and those with reduced or limited mobility. Eurosmart is the perfect proof that innovation is not limited to new lines. Innovating in a relevant way also means reinventing core products. Only these human-centric solutions enable us to create better homes.”
The Eurosmart hybrid means users can decide whether to use the manual lever or infra red sensor to reduce the risk of spreading germs and minimise cross-contamination.
All of the Eurosmart line is equipped with safe stop technology, which can limit the water temperature to reduce the risks of scalding. It also features EcoJoy technology which uses air injection to reduce water use but ensures a voluminous flow.
The Eurosmart brassware portfolio was launched on its GROHEX platform.

Today, Ideal Standard is introducing its brand-new design-led range, Atelier Collections, created in collaboration with renowned Italian studio PS+A.The bold designs have been created to work in harmony to allow complete customisation on every project.
The products bring together the skills of Palomba Serafinia Associati (PS+A), through its founder Roberta Palomba, with Ideal Standard’s broad manufacturing expertise.
The ranges draw inspiration from iconic Ideal Standard products of the past to create exciting new collections for the present. Roberto Palomba, with 25 years of experience in international design, has created unique collections that include an exclusive range of ceramics, brassware and furniture.
Inspired by Ideal Standard’s leading product lines from the past, the Conca range (pictured top) nods towards the iconic Ideal Standard basin, offering minimalist designs. The Blend range of WCs has been created to perfectly complement these basins.
Core to the Atelier collections is colour. PS+A have created a new, bold colour palette, some of which draws on colour influences that can be found in Ideal Standard’s design heritage, and others which reflect and define new colour trends. Launching in March, the colours have been applied to the Ipalyss range of super slim washbasins, designed by Robin Levien. Incredibly striking in colour and design, new shapes and sizes are also being introduced, creating an extremely durable and versatile range, made possible by Ideal Standard’s Diamatec® technology.
Additionally, there is also new brassware, with two new lines of mixer taps, Check and Joy. They are available in chrome and PVD finishes to offer a stylish simplicity.

We maintain a very simple approach for our creations: quality paired with intuitive design that also keeps an eye to the past, while ensuring the levels of practicality, purity and elegance meet the needs of modern society.”
Torsten Türling, Chief Executive Officer at Ideal Standard added: “Throughout our history, we’ve worked closely with the leading designers of their era. Master designers have a unique ability to capture the essence of the time and translate that into designs that shape the evolution of society and influence the culture of design beyond the bathroom. This essence of design is what we wanted to capture again and this is reflected in Atelier Collections.”
The Atelier Collections will be available exclusively through independent retailers, with Ideal Standard committing significant investment into showroom and marketing support for the collections.
David Barber, Managing Director for Ideal Standard UK and Ireland said: “The Atelier Collections mark a new era in Ideal Standard’s design journey and we understand the importance of these ranges for our retail partners. Not only are we committing to a consumer advertising campaign to drive footfall to showrooms, but we are also working with retailers to provide support and tailor-made packages to ensure they are fully equipped to serve their customer base.”

Flow regulators are devices that control the flow of water through our household appliances. They are manufactured here in the UK by Neoperl and are made in hundreds of sizes that can now be retro-fitted to taps and showers throughout the home, so everyone can now do their bit to save water and the energy that heats it.
Most taps will already include a flow control device at the end of the spout and it’s often only when in situ that one can identify whether the flow is too strong. We’ve all experienced a splashing cloakroom tap for instance where the flow is too fast for a smaller basin. Now the incumbent device can be easily removed and replaced with one that reduces the flow to a comfortable level. The same with showers, a valve shower often delivers far too much water and even a slight reduction adds up to a substantial water saving over the year.
Regardless of the prevalent water pressure, a flow regulator maintains a consistent water stream at the chosen flow rate. A typical flow regulator consists of three components, a housing, a seating area and a precision-ring. The flow is determined by the interaction between the seating area and the o-ring. As water flows through the device at a higher or lower pressure, the shape of the o-ring changes to restrict or release the flow of water.
As a spokesperson for Neoperl tell us, now is the time to look at both our own homes and advise your clients on this easy water-saving win.
“As clients spend more time working from home and adding home improvements in abundance, why not take the opportunity to talk with them about saving water too? Especially as we are all spending so much more time washing our hands resulting in many thousands more litres of water being washed down the plughole.
“It’s a really affordable solution to retro-fit a flow regulator, most consumers could do it themselves with a little advice. They simply need to be aware that flow regulators exist, obtain the right advice as to which regulator to fit to retain adequate performance and purchase a simple tool to fit it.”
