VitrA London is to highlight its new recycled ceramic washbasin in an installation titled ‘Re-Ceramic’ featuring pieces from the Liquid collection by designer Tom Dixon during this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week.

The brand’s showroom, in the heart of Clerkenwell on Turnmill Street, will undergo a major refit for the festival, presenting the new M-Line range, the recycled washbasin collection*, an updated working tap display, and new tile collections.

Following a warm reception at INTERNI CROSS VISION at this year’s Milan Design Week, a new version of ‘Re-Ceramic’, designed especially for the London showroom, explores the theme of waste reuse and recycling.

Tom Dixon explains, “This installation is a narrative journey through the recycling process. Utilising the casting technique, we immerse the viewer in the transformative journey of ceramics from ‘primordial mud’ to durable, functional art.”

‘Re-Ceramic’ almost entirely utilises recycled ceramic waste, illustrated with pieces from the Liquid collection by Tom Dixon. This represents a significant leap in sustainable design, featuring the world’s first washbasin crafted from nearly 100% recycled materials.

This approach showcases VitrA’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sets a new standard for the industry.

*The entire basin is produced from nearly 100% recycled waste materials that are generated and disposed of during the ceramic sanitaryware manufacturing process.

Bette has outlined six advantages that make its shower trays a smart choice for residential and commercial bathrooms, including its latest invisible anti-slip option.

1 – Bette shower trays are available with an invisible, smooth and easy-to-clean anti-slip surface that provides the highest level of slip protection (Group C to DIN EN 16165) and is guaranteed for 30 years. BetteAnti-Slip Sense is a unique way to add safety without spoiling the look of the shower tray.

2 – Bette shower trays come in 70 sizes, so there is no need to compromise on the perfect size. They are strong and stable, even in the largest 2000 x 900mm and 1800 x 1000mm dimensions, and come in floor level and above floor options, with central or side wastes.

3 – Bette offers 30 matt and gloss colours.

4 – Bette shower trays are made from glazed titanium-steel, which is so strong and durable that they have a 30- year warranty. They stay looking great for years and are extremely easy to clean. Plus, for those who want a more sustainable choice, there’s no plastic, many products are made from carbon-neutral ‘green’ steel and all products are fully recyclable.

5 – Bette shower trays can be ordered with an upstand, which is part of the shower tray itself, and means there is no silicone where the shower tray meets the wall. BetteUpstand is formed exactly where the customer needs it – along only the relevant sides and to the length required.

6 – Bette shower trays are fast and easy to install. Many can be simply glued to the screed and, when the shower tray needs to be raised, the self-locking, telescopic feet of new BetteLevel make it easy and fast.

Roca Group has announced the acquisition of Nosag and IneoCare. The companies specialise in the manufacture of bathroom accessibility products for people with reduced mobility. This acquisition reinforces Roca Group’s position in Central Europe and also in the over-65s market, a growing segment that already accounts for 20% of Europe’s population.

Nosag, an established brand in the market, was founded in 1977 in Dintikon, Switzerland. In 2020, the company set up IneoCare (in Dobroszyce, Poland) to manufacture and supply most of its products. The companies are currently only present in the Swiss market, but Roca Group plans to extend the selling of these products to all markets where it operates.

Albert Magrans, CEO of Roca Group, commented on the acquisition, “For the group, this is a strategic move, given the complementary portfolios of both companies with the current catalogue of products offered by our global brands Roca and LAUFEN. It reinforces our line of ‘total care concept’ products and will allow us to reach all those people who, as well as being committed to design and usability, need more practical and comfortable devices adapted to their personal circumstances.”
