In a celebration of creativity and inclusivity, Fitzroy of London teamed up with Studio Moren to develop meticulously designed accessible bathrooms for the guest rooms at Hyde London City Hotel. Selecting products from Fitzroy of London’s Gosfield Collection, the collaboration seamlessly blends sophistication with practicality, creating spaces which are as aesthetically striking as they are functional. Every element was thoughtfully crafted to embody the hotel’s modern, stylish ethos whilst upholding the highest standards of accessibility. From intricate detailing to exceptional design, every touch was made with the guest experience in mind, ensuring a harmonious and thoughtfully conceived environment for all.

The project showcases Fitzroy of London’s Gosfield Collection in an Anthracite PVD finish – a sleek and sophisticated choice that complements the brassware used in non-accessible rooms, creating a cohesive design narrative throughout the hotel. From stylish grab rails to sleek, statement fittings, each product has been carefully selected to enhance both aesthetics and accessibility, creating luxurious, design-led spaces.

Playful, yet elegant, the hotel’s interiors incorporate bold wallpaper and eye-catching headboards, showing design continuity that carries seamlessly into the bathrooms.

The Anthracite finish of the accessible bathroom products provides a striking contrast to the crisp white and olive green tiles throughout the space. This bold yet sophisticated pairing enhances the bathroom’s contemporary character, allowing the darker fixtures to stand out as elegant design features rather than purely functional elements. The deep, matt tones of the Anthracite finish ground the palette, adding depth and definition whilst seamlessly tying in with the hotel’s overall modern aesthetic.

Sarah Yuma, Interior Designer at Studio Moren commented: “When working on accessible bathrooms, it’s often difficult to find beautiful products in the finish that you want, but Fitzroy of London offers a wide range of options to choose from, making it a super simple process. From boutique hotels to large-scale international projects, accessibility will always be a key consideration for us. We’re designing for an ageing population, but also for inclusivity, and accessible bathrooms should never be an afterthought.”

Built in 1874 and reborn as Hyde London City, this striking hotel is located in the historic Spiers & Pond building at the heart of London. With its vibrant dining spots, iconic landmarks and charming surroundings, Hyde London City offers a distinctive blend of bohemian flair and Victorian elegance. Guests can wake up to stunning views of the Old Bailey, further enhancing the hotel’s connection to its historic surroundings.

Fitzroy of London’s commitment to quality and customisation proved invaluable throughout the refurbishment, with the result being a fully inclusive and stylish environment, earning praise from the client and guests alike.

Bradley Culmer, business development director commented: “Working with Studio Moren on Hyde London City was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how our collections, like Gosfield, can deliver both functionality and aesthetic harmony. We’re proud to have contributed to a space that truly embodies inclusive luxury, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the positive response to the finished project.”
