When it comes to bathroom furniture, be it freestanding or wall-mounted, colour, design and style are important, especially for those who wish to make a statement in both the hospitality and private sectors. VITRIUM by Christian Werner for Duravit brings a bold splash of colour into the bathroom. The new series includes vanity units and a tall cabinet, working with matching washbasins, toilets and bathtubs from other series.
This colour concept has been designed to create a presence without dominating the space, and the design language is clean and unfussy, taking inspiration from fundamental geometric shapes such as a circle and cube. The colour palette consists of the three neutral shades, Light Gray Matt, Dark Gray Matt, and White Matt, and the three rich shades, Greenblue Matt, Parlour Blue Matt, and Cinnamon Matt.
The focus is still on colour but with a more subtle palette, as demonstrated with SIVIDA by Starck (pictured bellow). This is Duravit’s first washing-area range with mineral cast material washbasins and bathroom furniture designed by Philippe Starck, which comes at an attractive price point.
Extraordinary washing areas can be created thanks to the balanced colour palette: from subtle tone-in-tone solutions to high-contrast applications, including handles, towel holders, or furniture feet, which are available in Chrome or Diamond Black. Tall cabinets offer additional storage space for towels and toiletries, and the vanity unit’s internal dividers for drawers can be added to aid tidiness in the bathroom.
The HAPPY D2 Plus furniture collection from Sieger design uses an exciting colour dynamic between light and dark – White interiors with Anthracite Matt or Graphite Super Matt exteriors. The distinctive open oval curves of the bathtubs and the curvaceous above-the-counter wash bowls are carried through to the consoles and matching semi-tall cabinets. The furniture has gently rounded edges with handle-free fronts and additional shelving for smaller items within the door cabinet.
