Roca’s Ona bathroom collection has been chosen for the refurbishment of the iconic St Pancras London, an Autograph Collection Hotel and one of London’s most celebrated landmarks. Situated in the heart of King’s Cross, the hotel perfectly combines Victorian grandeur with modern sophistication.
Originally designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand Hotel, the building’s rich heritage and Gothic façade have made it a symbol of London’s architectural splendour. Today, the St. Pancras London continues to welcome guests from all over the world who check in for its blend of history, artistry and contemporary comfort.
The value of the hotel bathroom is summed up by Jonathan Hayes, design director, Manhattan Loft Corporation, developers of the overall St Pancras London project. “The bathroom design plays a very important role within the project. It is often the element within a guest’s experience that defines their overall impression of the hotel,” he says.
Elegant functionality
Working alongside Archer Humphryes Architects and interior designer Nora Witzigmann, Roca collaborated closely with the project team to deliver bathrooms that reflect the grandeur of the building while meeting the demands of modern hospitality.
“Roca offered a robust and flexible product in a renovation situation,” explains Jonathan. “During the model room phase, Roca was able to provide a variety of products that could be tested within the bathroom spaces, allowing us to review their performance and adaptability within this unique heritage setting.”
