Why we need Sleep...

Margaret Talbot, Marketing Manager of VitrA UK explains why the show is the ultimate platform to meet leading architects and designers...

"Simultaneously, consumers are becoming more discerning when choosing their accommodation and accord great importance to the finer details including sustainability – a subject VitrA upholds as part of our ‘Blue Life’ philosophy."

Sleep continues to be a very valuable experience for VitrA and this year was no different. It enabled us to engage with the hotel design, development and architecture community within an industry-focused environment. Trade shows like Sleep are a great launch platform for us to showcase our latest collections and introduce them to new and existing customers.

We always select carefully the products we present at Sleep and make sure they are relevant to the show’s targeted hospitality audience. This year’s display was imagined around the concept of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, and focused on bathroom design that champions rest, recuperation and relaxation. We have noticed that specifiers are more aware than ever of design while taking into consideration the end-consumer’s well-being. With the rise of the sharing economy and in particular the ascent of Airbnb, hotels have had to rethink the amenities and attractions that will be expected by their target guests.

Simultaneously, consumers are becoming more discerning when choosing their accommodation and accord great importance to the finer details including sustainability – a subject VitrA upholds as part of our ‘Blue Life’ philosophy. At VitrA we thrive to collaborate with the best names in design to create products that inspire and that respond to these new expectations.

Highlights on the stand included Matteo Thun’s new Water Jewels bath and the new Eternity collection designed by Sebastian Conran who joined us on the stand at Sleep. The show is the ultimate platform to meet leading architects and designers who work on prominent projects, and we appreciate Sleep’s effort to target the most influential UK and international practices.
