Utopia has added four new decors to its exceptionally popular range of 20mm solid surface worktops. Available with a choice of inverted chamfered or chamfered profile, the new decors include three on-trend veined marble effects, namely, Imperial White, Palladian Grey and Tempest Black, plus Metropolitan Grey, a granite effect worktop.  Imperial White and Tempest Black both offer striking patterns for a bold and dramatic statement effect whereas Metropolitan Grey and Palladian Grey are subtle patterns designed to blend unobtrusively with the overall interior design scheme of the bathroom.

The new decors combine the look of natural marble or granite with the convenience, warmth and versatility of a manmade material. All are solid cast which means the pattern continues throughout the thickness of the material adding to the realistic effect.

The new additions capitalise on current and future colour trends, complementing Utopia’s extensive range of door finishes. Together with the existing 20mm solid surface effects, Polaris Crema and Polaris White, Utopia is confident that these four new additions will offer the consumer a much broader and appealing choice, particularly in conjunction with its recent Roseberry launch.

Straight from the exhibition halls of Cersaie, Acquabella, a leading Spanish brand, is launching its nature-inspired Halo and Icon Slate collection.

The Halo Slate has a microtextured cornice which runs across the frame, becoming more defined as it joins the design-led efficient drainage system which runs discreetly around the perimeter of the tray allowing water to flow into the slightly raised plate trap.

Icon Slate is a wall-mounted sculptural totem, where practicality is beautifully fused with design to create a stunning structure. The Icon Slate totem narrows at the base, with a clever design device; incorporating a contrasting texture to highlight the shape. At the top, the totem opens to a wider basin, framed on three sides with a delicate profile.

Both the Halo Slate tray and the Icon Slate totem are made from Acquabella’s patented material Akron®

Akron® exclusively combines the properties of polyurethane with mineral fillers for an excellent, high-quality, durable anti-bacterial and anti-slip surface.

The Icon Slate totem is 85x52x40 cm and featured here in a gorgeous Forest Green but is available in over 2000 RAL colours.

The Halo Slate tray comes in standard sizes from 70 cm x 100 cm to 100 x 200 cm, pictured top in Blanco but available in over 2000 RAL colours.

Consistency is vital when designing a bathroom, be it a refurbishment or a totally new project. Taps and mixers, washbasins and bathtubs, as well as fittings for the shower can all be coordinated. Keeping styles uniform will help avoid mix-and-match scenarios or a messy hodge podge of different colours and shapes.

Elegant and stylish, IXMO by KEUCO, provides the opportunity to create a finely coordinated bathroom design with the differently nuanced design language supplied by the spouts and handles.

KEUCO is offering three styles:

• IXMO PURE – the focus is classic, simple lines that comprise a round, straight spout and
rectangular handle

• IXMO SOFT – a softer style, curvaceous, smooth with a rounded spout and rounded handle.

• IXMO FLAT – this is a combination of the two styles bringing both round and angular shapes
together harmoniously.

Mixer taps and spouts work equally as well with countertop washbasins, under-counter, wall-hung and hand washbasins, as well as freestanding and fitted baths. To ensure that the shower fitting is in line with the rest of the bathroom a round or square cover plate is available, enabling it to coordinate with each of the three different IXMO.

The IXMO collection is available as a classic chrome, or with a black matt finish, which allows interior designers and end consumers alike to bring creativity into their bathroom design. For those with a preference for elements of black in the bathroom, a little extra design extravagance can be added by including the striking accessories in the KEUCO BLACK SELECTION.

Answering the demand from bathroom designers, retailers and developers for a generous splash of colour in the cloakroom or en-suite, the Horton basin has been launched by Thomas Crapper. Arguably, cloakrooms are important as they are the destination for most visitors to the home or hotel bar!

Inspired by one of the company’s original fireclay basins from the 1901 catalogue, the basin comes in Forest Green, Indigo Blue and White. The tap portfolios from Thomas Crapper are equally stylish and, for a contemporary setting, the semi-matt finish looks great with the polished brass Spitfire taps, pictured here.

The basins are hand-crafted from fireclay ceramic in Lancashire and are available in two- or three-tap hole options. Dimensions are W420mm x D324mm x H334mm while the integral back accommodates wall-mounted brassware. The Forest Green and Indigo Blue retail at £539 inc. vat while the White costs £479.

Kaldewei tell us as a brand with a strong ethical and ecological conscience, and a pioneer in the field of sustainability it continues to search for ways to improve and expand its offering.  We take a look at how the sanitaryware and shower tray manufacturer successfully builds Luxability into its collections.

Bluemint steel

As of last year, Kaldewei use Bluemint steel, to manufacture its sanitaryware which reduces its carbon output by 70 percent.  The change in the manufacturing process does not alter the quality of its products as Kaldewei still produces luxurious, sustainable bathroom solutions; which has coined the term Luxtainable – a perfect example of how the highest standards of sustainability, quality and aesthetics can merge flawlessly into exciting and desirable products.

Sustainable design

Sustainability is a key to Kaldewei, but elegant design and trendsetting style are equally as significant.  Colour is an important feature in the bathroom and as such Kaldewei offer a bi-coloured baths variant in three of their freestanding bathtub models: Centro Duo Oval, Conoduo and Ellipso Duo Oval. These produce a dramatic impact within the bathing area and are available in alpine white, alpine white matt, black gloss, and lava black matt – providing an eye-catching combination for today’s modern bathroom.

Kaldewei baths – available in a range of colours

The importance of colour

In fact, Kaldewei has an extensive portfolio of over 600 shower surfaces, bathtubs, and washbasins, in a wide coordinated colour palette, including a range of dark and warm grey tones, classic shades and numerous variants of warm beige.  All of which enables Kaldewei to provide perfectly coordinated solutions for projects large or small, including those moments that demand a bold pop of colour.  The elegant lines and bold jewel tones provided by the Miena washbowl may be just what you need to bring a bathroom to life!

The Zencha bathroom collection by Sebastian Herkner was inspired by traditional Japanese rituals and combines above-counter basins with minimalistic furniture. The collection also includes a bathtub and mirror and can be combined with toilets from a range of Duravit lines.

Modular bathroom furniture

The modular Zencha furniture collection has the flexibility to be organised as open shelving or drawers with easy to operate open and self-close technology. Combined with an above-counter basin, they create a beautiful centrepiece in the bathroom.

As a storage area for everyday items, Zencha offers structure to the room and creates a feeling of calm. The furniture frame comes with an easy-to-clean surface and anti-fingerprint effect and is available in the subtle colours White Super Matt, Taupe Super Matt, and Graphite Super Matt.

The cabinet fronts add a playful element and are offered in a range of variants. While the options in Natural Oak and Oak Black produce a warm and tactile effect, white plate or black textured glass introduces a degree of sensual elegance into the bathroom.

“I’ve always wanted to develop a bathroom series for Duravit,” said the designer from Offenbach.

Above-counter basins

The above-counter basins are made from DuraCeram® and consist of two differently shaped above-counter basins: a curved square measuring 420 x 420 mm and a rounded rectangle measuring 550 x 390 mm – with or without a tap panel – in White, White Satin Matt, Gray Satin Matt, and Anthracite Matt.

The square variant of the above-counter basin with its ceramic cover is a particular talking point in the bathroom and is covered by Duravit’s lifetime warranty. It can be combined with toilets from a range of Duravit lines.

Bathtub

The free-standing bathtub is made from DuraSolid® and measures 1250 x 1250 mm. Bathers are invited to immerse themselves into the deep water, an experience reminiscent of a Japanese Onsen bath. The bathtub is available in two compact versions measuring 1600 x 850 mm and 1800 x 900 mm, optionally with the air whirl system integrated into the base for a gentle massage effect.
