GROHE has unveiled its next generation of infra-red technology, designed to provide a hygienic, sustainable and cost-efficient solution to a wide range of applications, from airports and hotels to office buildings and healthcare.
A new feature to the infra-red range is GROHE’s new bi-directional data exchange, which means that they can both receive commands for programming and settings, and allow users to monitor weekly, monthly or annual usage.
GROHE’s infrared products are easy to control via a brand new remote control or via an app on a smartphone or tablet. This means it is simple to adjust functions such as running time, thermal disinfection and regulate automatic flushes.
As the infra-red products offer touch free operation and settings such as automatic cleaning, they also help to meet a building’s specific hygiene standards. By regular flushing, germs are prevented from growing in pipes and they also prevent unpleasant odours caused by water stagnation. The products are also designed to significantly reduce water consumption by up to 70% by starting and stopping the flow of water precisely as required. Maintenance costs on battery operated ranges are also reduced due to the little energy required to operate a GROHE infrared product: the battery can last up to seven years at 150 actuations per day.
GROHE’s infra-red product ranges include the Powerbox which uses the tap’s own water flow to drive a turbine, concealed in a small box installed below the basin.
All products come with a five year warranty for commercial applications, and include WRAS approved ranges.
